Maine Earth Institute is a sister partner with the North West Earth Institute (NWEI).  NWEI has developed a series of discussion courses complete with a comprehensive reading and discussion guide for each. Groups meet weekly or bi-weekly, using a format of shared group facilitation and leadership. The courses vary in number of sessions, utilizing a format of inquiry and dialogue. Meetings usually last from one to one and a half hours in locations convenient to participants.  You can order books directly from the Northwest Earth Institute.  Please make sure on the form that you select “Maine Earth Institute” as the affiliate organization.

How to Sponsor a Course

Pick a time and location. Use posters, press releases and list serves to announce the course. Maine Earth Institute volunteers will be willing to mentor you in your launching of courses.  To discuss this, call number listed on our welcome page.  A description of the Maine Earth Institute mission, history, membership, course offerings and class process will be provided. The courses are free though there is a cost for the printed readers.  We will also be happy to announce the course on this web site.
